Hanwha Group is committed to protecting your personal information and abides by the rules set out under relevant laws and regulations. Hanwha Group (hereinafter the “Company”) complies with the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (hereinafter the “Law”) and the Standard on Technical and Administrative Protection Measures for Personal Information announced by Korea Communications Commission and abides by the Personal Information Handling Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act pursuant to Article 27, Section 2 of the Law and the Standard Guidelines on Personal Information Protection announced by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, as stated hereunder.

The Company’s Privacy Policy may be modified at any time pursuant to changes in relevant laws and regulations, guideline of the government, and internal policies of the Company. Measures and processes to continuously improve the Privacy Policy shall be defined accordingly. Revisions or amendments made to the Privacy Policy will be announced via a pop-up screen or the Notice Board of the homepage (hanwhain.com). 1. Consent to Collection of Personal Information

The Company’s Privacy Policy provides you with an option to select between “I agree” and “I don’t agree” regarding your consent to the collection of your personal information. By clicking the box next to “I agree,” you agree to give your consent to the collection of your personal information.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

“Personal Information” refers to information of an existing individual, i.e. information that allows the identification of an individual based on name, resident registration number, and other data contained in such information (including information that, if used independently, may not be appropriate to identify a certain individual but can be easily combined with other information to do as such).

The purpose of collecting your Personal Information is as follows:

3. Type of Personal Information Collected

  • · The information the Company collects is limited to those essential for providing basic services. The Company obtains and receives your consent to collecting information necessary to provide services tailored to your personal preference and need. Your access to basic services will not be limited, even if you decide not to provide optional information.
  • · The Company does not collect sensitive Personal Information (e.g. race and ethnicity, ideology and creed, place of birth and domicile of origin, political orientation, criminal record, health condition, sexual orientation, etc.) that may arouse concern for human rights violation other than serving the purpose of screening preferred applicants. Under no circumstances will the information provided by you be leaked out or used for any purposes other than those disclosed to you in advance.

4. Method of Collecting Personal Information

The Company uses the following method to collect your Personal Information:

5. Period of Retention and Use of Personal Information

  • · Your Personal information will be retained and used so long as the Company provides services to you. If you request for a deletion, the Personal Information collected by the Company will be destroyed in such way that it cannot be viewed or used any longer. Nevertheless, pursuant to the Commercial Act and regulations under relevant laws, e.g. Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce Transactions, etc., Electronic Financial Transactions Act, Specialized Credit Finance business Act, Framework Act on National Taxes, Corporation Tax Act, and Value-added Tax Act, Personal Information will be kept for a certain amount of time, if there is need for retaining the information to verify contractual rights and obligations as stated below. Should this be the case, viewing and using retained Personal Information will be restricted to relevant reasons only and the purpose, term, and items to be retained shall be stated in advance.
  • · Accordingly, if need be, Personal Information will be retained pursuant to relevant laws as stated below:
  • · Over a predefined time notified and did not elapse or a committed time in case a separate consent had been obtained from you
  • · Job applications and Talent DB information: Three years upon saving the information or up to three months upon requesting deletion of the information (subject to erxclusion from future recruitment opportunities)
  • · If you demand to view transaction information the Company is keeping with your consent, it shall be made available to you without any delay.

6. Use of Personal Information Collected and Disclosure to Third Parties

  • · The Company’s use of your Personal Information is limited to the scope stated in membership application, Terms and Conditions, and 2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information under this Privacy Policy. The Company shall not use your Personal Information outside of such scope or disclose it to third parties, including other people, companies, and/or organizations. Notwithstanding, the Company can, in a discreet manner, use and provide Personal Information in below cases:
  • · Strategic partners: Your Personal Information may be made available to or shared with the Company’s strategic partners to improve services. If any of the Personal Information is to be made available to or shared with strategic partners, you will be, either in writing or via email, notified of who these strategic partners are, which pieces of and why the Personal Information will be made available to them, and until when and how the information will be protected and handled, and asked to consent to such action. Should you not consent to disclosing and sharing the information, the Company will not make the information available to or share it with its strategic partners. If there is a change or termination in any of the strategic partnership, notification will be made to you and your consent will be obtained through the same process.
  • · Sell-off or M&A: If the operation is transferred in whole or in part, or if rights and obligations of the service provider is transferred and/or succeeded, you will be, by all means, notified of such changes so that your rights for privacy protection is reserved.
  • · The Company does not use or provide to third parties information outside the scope initially notified to you when obtaining your consent for collecting Personal Information or stipulated in Terms and Conditions. Nevertheless, exceptions apply, if your consent is obtained or the following is the case:
  • · If Personal Information is necessary for performing contractual obligations regarding service provision, but it is significantly difficult to get consent to obtaining such information due to economic and/or technical reasons;
  • · If such information is needed to settle payments arising from service provision; and
  • · If relevant laws and regulations, including Protection of Communications Secrets Act, Framework Act on National Taxes, Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Act on Real Name Financial Transactions and Confidentiality, Use and Protection of Credit Information Act, Framework Act on Telecommunications Business Act, Local Tax Act, Framework Act on Consumers, Bank of Korea Act, Criminal Procedure Act, etc., stipulate otherwise. However, even if a case was to be defines as “stipulated otherwise” and administrative or investigative agencies asked for such information for respective purposes, your Personal Information will not be provided unconditionally, but follow lawful procedures, such as demanding a warrant or written request signed by the head of the organization, as stipulated in relevant laws and regulations.

7. Rights and Obligations of User and Exercise Thereof

  • · Right to view Personal Information
  • · You, as the Personal Information provider, can demand to view your own Personal Information managed by the Company.
  • · Should the Company be requested by you for disclosing the information, the relevant Personal Information shall be made available to you within a time frame of ten days. If there is a justifiable reason for not providing access to the information, the Company can postpone disclosure of such information upon notifying you of the reason. Once such reason lapses, the Company shall allow you to view the information without any delay.
  • · If below reasons are applicable, the Company can either limit or reject your request to view the information upon informing you about the reason:
  • · If relevant laws and regulations ban or limit viewing the information; and
  • · If there is potential concern for harming the lives or physical health or unlawfully infringing the property and interests of other people.
  • · Right to correct and/or delete Personal Information
  • · You, as the Personal Information provider, can demand modification or deletion of your own Personal Information. However, if relevant laws stipulate mandatory collection of a particular piece of Personal Information, you cannot ask for it to be deleted.
  • · If you demand modification or deletion of your own Personal Information, the Company shall take necessary measures to modify and delete such information without delay and inform you about the result, except when a special procedure is otherwise specified under relevant laws.
  • · Inaccurate Personal Information you asked for a correction of shall not be used or disclosed to third parties until such correction has been made.
  • · If inaccurate Personal Information has been already disclosed to third parties, the corrected version shall be promptly notified to relevant parties for them to be able to correct the information.
  • · If the Company deletes Personal Information, it shall make sure that the information cannot be restored or reproduced.
  • · If deemed necessary, the Company can ask you to submit evidential material relevant for confirming your request for correction or deletion of Personal Information.
  • · Right to demand suspension of processing Personal Information
  • · You, as the Personal Information provider, can ask the Company to suspend the processing of your own Personal Information.
  • · If you demand to suspend the processing of your Personal information, the Company shall suspend processing of your Personal Information either in whole or in part without delay. Nevertheless, the Company may reject your request in below cases:
  • · If there is a special regulation on the matter under the relevant laws or processing of the information is inevitable to be in compliance with legal obligations;
  • · If there is concern for harming the lives or physical health or unlawfully infringing the property and interests of other people; and
  • · If it is difficult to fulfill the employment contract without processing Personal Information, unless you clearly state your intention for terminating such contract.
  • · The Company shall, upon your request, take necessary measures to suspend the processing of Personal Information, such as destruction of relevant information, without any delay.
  • · How to make a request to view, correct, delete, and suspend the processing of Personal Information
  • · If you seek to view, correct, delete, and suspend processing of Personal Information, leave your request on the Q&A board. The Company will promptly respond to your request.

8. Withdrawal of Consent to Collection, Use, and Disclosure

  • · You may, at any time, withdraw your consent to collecting, using, and disclosing Personal Information you gave when subscribing to the website or through other means. Withdrawal of consent can be done through the Consent Withdrawal site in the homepage, where you may selectively withdraw your consent to any of the collection, use, and/or disclosure of Personal Information. Unsubscribing from the membership will be regarded as having withdrawn the consent to collecting, using, and disclosing Personal Information. You may also call or write to the personnel in charge of or responsible for privacy management, upon which necessary measures will be taken immediately for the withdrawal of your membership or consent. Upon taking necessary measures to withdraw your consent and destroy your Personal Information, the Company shall inform you about the result without any delay. Your consent to the collection and use of information mandatorily required for service provision cannot be withdrawn.
  • · The Company shall take measures necessary to make withdrawal of consent to collection of Personal Information and unsubscribing from membership easier than the collection of Personal Information.

9. Process and Method for Destruction of Personal Information

Once the Company fulfills the purpose of use of the Personal Information, it will be destructed promptly after a predefined time for retaining and using such information. The process, method, and time for destruction are as follows:

Personal Information you have provided for the purpose of subscribing to a service, for instance, will be deleted or destroyed after the retention period for information protection purposes pursuant to internal policies and other relevant laws (refer to the above section 5. Period of Retention and Use of Personal Information) and once the purpose of use of Personal Information, e.g. service cancellation, has been achieved. In general, Personal Information collected by the Company in the process of subscribing to your membership and those managed in electronic file format will be deleted immediately upon unsubscribing from membership.
Method of destruction
Personal Information printed on paper will be shredded in a shredder, incinerated, or chemically treated and dissolved, while those saved in electronic file format will be deleted using a technology that prevents reproduction of record.

10. Contracting out Handling of Personal Information

  • ·For streamlined operation to provide basic services, improved services, and customer benefits, the Company contracts out the handling of Personal Information as follows:

  • · With regards to outsourcing the handling of Personal Information, the Company clearly sets out compliance with information protection regulations under the Law, confidentiality of Personal Information, prohibition of disclosing Personal Information to third parties, liability in case of accidents, outsourcing period, and return and destruction of Personal Information in a contract which is kept properly either in a written or electronic format.
  • · The Company, in principle, does not outsource handling of Personal Information, without obtaining your consent, for purposes other than providing services. Nevertheless, if such necessity arises, the content of the information contracted out and the contractor shall be disclosed to you for your consent.

11. Notifying and Informing of Privacy Policy

  • · If the Company intends to get additional consent from you for using your Personal Information beyond the consented scope or disclosing the information to a third party, you will be notified of such changes made in advance via email, phone call, or in writing.
  • · If the collection, retention, processing, use, management, and destruction of your Personal Information is contracted out to a third party, you will be notified of it and asked to give consent through the membership subscription screen in the homepage, Terms and Conditions, and the Privacy Policy.
  • · If the Company transfers its operation in whole or in part or transfers the rights and obligations thereof as a result of a merger or succession, you will be notified of such transfer in writing or via email, in addition to posting the content of such transfer on the main page of the website for 30 days or longer. Nevertheless, notification in writing, via email, or other means can be replaced with publishing notices at least once in two or more national daily newspapers, if, due to no fault of the Company, the contact information of users is unknown or force majeure or other justifiable reasons exist for not being able to notify users thereof (if the majority of users reside in a certain region, the national daily newspapers can be replaced by dailies of high circulation in that particular region).

12. Technical and Administrative Measures for Privacy Protection

  • · The Company devices and puts in place technical and administrative measures intended to protect your Personal Information.
  • · Technical measures
    • The Company shall devise the following technical measures to ensure security of your Personal Information in prevention of its loss, theft, leakage, falsification, or damage.
    • Your Personal Information is protected by a password. Important data is applied with a special security feature, such as encryption or file lock, when transmitted.
    • The Company uses a vaccine program to prevent your computer from getting damaged by virus attack. The vaccine program, which is updated regularly, responds to unpredicted virus attack and immediately gets rid of the virus, preventing infringement of your Personal Information.
    • The Company employs security devices (SSL or SET) based on an encryption algorithm to safely transmit Personal Information through communication network.
    • The Company takes every necessary measure, e.g. server-specific firewall system and vulnerability analysis system, to ensure security of your Personal Information against hacking or other attacks from the outside.
  • · Administrative measures
    • The Company limits the number of personnel with authority to access your Personal Information to a minimum. These personnel are: i) personnel responsible for direct marketing; ii) personnel responsible for or in charge of Personal Information management; and iii) personnel whose involvement in handling Personal Information is inevitable for job-related reasons.
    • The Company shall devise processes necessary for accessing and managing your Personal Information and mandate its employees to familiarize and comply with such processes. For employees handling Personal Information, the Company provides regular in-house or commissioned trainings on acquiring new security technologies and complying with obligations under privacy protection provisions.
    • Transfer of work of employees who handle Personal Information is done in a thorough manner with security measures in place. Liabilities for privacy infringement that remain with employees who join and retire from the Company are clearly defined.
    • The computer room and data storage room are designated as special zones that require stronger security measures. Access to these zones is controlled.
    • If your Personal Information is processed via a computer, the Company designates personnel with authority for access to Personal Information. The personnel will be assigned with an ID and password which shall be renewed on a regular basis.
    • To prevent leakage of information, new employees to the Company are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement for general information and privacy protection. The Company also devises and continuously implements an internal process to monitor employee’s implementation of and compliance with Privacy Policy.
    • The Company makes it obligatory for retiring employees who had been involved in the handling of Personal Information to sign a non-disclosure agreement to ensure that they do not damage, infringe, or leak out information they acquired in performing their duties.
    • When collecting information, such as your credit card number and bank account for payment, for purposes of entering terms of use for services or providing relevant services to users, the Company shall take necessary measures to verify the identity of such users.
    • The Company does not take responsibility for issues arising from your own mistakes or inherent risks of the Internet. As a member of the website, you are obliged to take proper measures to manage your ID and password in order to protect your own Personal Information.
    • Combinations of password that may easily be speculated by others are to be avoided. Ideally, you need to change your password on a regular basis.
    • When you access your account using a shared PC, it is essential you log out of the website and close the homepage before you move to a different website. Otherwise, your ID, password, and other Personal Information may leak out and become accessible for other people using the browser.
    • If loss, leakage, falsification, and/or damages to Personal Information arise due to a mistake made by an in-house administrator or a technical failure, the Company shall promptly inform you about the fact and devise proper measures and make compensations.

13. Installation and Operation of Cookies and Rejection Thereof

  • · The Company may install and operate cookies that saves and at any time retrieves user information via the Internet services it provides. Cookies refer to strings of information that is transmitted from a web server to a web browser where they are saved and, upon additional request from the server, retransmitted to the server. When you access the website, the content of the cookie on your server can be retrieved for additional information needed to provide services without having to key in name and other necessary information.
  • · You reserve your right to select whether or not to install a cookie. 14. Rights and Obligations of User

  • · You are required to provide your most recent accurate Personal Information to prevent unforeseen accidents. You are responsible for accidents occurring as a result of providing incorrect information. Your membership may be terminated upon entering false information or unlawfully using the information of other people.
  • · While you reserve the right to be provided with proper protection of your Personal Information, you are obliged not to infringe upon privacy of other people and to protect yourself. You need to ensure that your Personal Information, including your password, is not leaked out, Personal Information of others, including their posts, is not damaged. If you fail to remain committed to such responsibility and damage the information and dignity of others, you may be punishment pursuant to the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

16. Personnel Responsible for Privacy Protection

  • · The Company values the importance of protecting your Personal Information and makes its best efforts to ensure it is not damaged, infringed upon, or leaked out. Nevertheless, the Company bears no responsibility for any damages to information due to unforeseen accidents occurring from inherent risks of network communication, such as hacking, in spite of all necessary technical measures in place or any disputes arising from posts written by visitors.

The online recruiting website of Hanwha Group (hanwhain.com) refuses unconsented collection of email addresses through email collection programs or other technical means. A breach of it is punishable under the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection.
